Portland, OR – As federal and state agencies ramp up scrutiny of senior service providers throughout the state of Oregon, Laurelhurst Village did something few can by achieving perfect results on three separate 2016 annual inspections. The post-acute care and senior living campus, which is managed by the Avamere family of companies and is located at 3060 SE Stark St., Portland, OR 97214, earned perfect surveys for skilled nursing and long-term care, assisted living, and fire & life safety.

“To receive a deficiency-free survey is an amazing accomplishment in such a highly regulated industry, and this places Laurelhurst Village squarely at the top of senior care providers in Oregon,” says Trevor Wart, President of Avamere Skilled Advisors. “The perfect surveys achieved by the team at Laurelhurst Village show that adherence and follow-through to core processes can result in quality patient outcomes and enhanced customer experiences. I am extremely proud of the entire staff at Laurelhurst Village for their dedication to Avamere’s mission to enhance the life of every person we serve.”

The rigorous unannounced inspections are conducted annually by the Oregon Department of Human Services. State inspectors examine over five hundred quality standards including administration, staffing ratios, safety, food and dining services, overall cleanliness of the buildings, resident rights, quality of care and many more. The purpose of the surveys is to ensure skilled nursing and assisted living facilities meet state and federal regulations. The results of the surveys, which are publicly available, serve as a great tool for patients, residents, and families to make informed decisions when searching for care and living options.

“This is a huge success for every member of our team,” says Nathan Nielsen, Administrator for Laurelhurst Village. “The perfect surveys show that the entire campus of Laurelhurst Village exceeds the standards of quality care. We encourage our team members to have a “team first” approach, rather than a “me first” attitude. That mentality and our steadfast dedication to quality assurance practices work to build healthier communities for everyone because we all achieve much more together than we ever will alone.”
